Dota 2 Majors betting: every Major winner and what to bet on now

The Dota Major Championships were Valve-sponsored tournaments held from 2015 to 2023, run by organisers such as ESL, PGL and DreamHack. Twenty-eight Majors were played before Valve ended the Dota Pro Circuit in September 2023; the last three, in 2023, were all won by Gaimin Gladiators against Team Liquid.

There are no Valve Majors any more. The International is the only Valve-sanctioned Dota 2 event, and the rest of the calendar is run by third-party organisers, such as ESL's DreamLeague. This page keeps the full Major record and shows how to bet on the events that replaced it.

Can you still bet on Dota 2 Majors?

No. Valve ended the Dota Pro Circuit and its Majors after the 2023 season. Dota 2 betting now centres on The International and third-party events such as DreamLeague, whose Season 30 runs from 2 to 13 December 2026. The markets are the same as at the old Majors: series winner, map winner, handicaps, total maps, kills and first blood.

Three ways to bet on Dota 2 events

Outright

Pick the winner of the event before or during it. Double-elimination brackets, common in Dota 2, give a favourite a second life after one loss.

So what: bigger payout but a bigger margin, and your stake is locked until the trophy is lifted.

Match winner

Pick the winner of one series. Most playoff series are best-of-three; check the format of each event.

So what: the lowest margin on most books, and you can react to form, patches and roster news.

Specials and props

First blood, first Roshan, total kills on a map, map duration and highest-kill player.

So what: thin markets with wide margins; compare two or three books before you bet.

How it is worked out

Title chance = chance per series to the power of the series still to win. With 3 series left the chance is 21.6%, fair odds 4.63. Each series win removes one factor.

What it means: a price of 3.70 before the playoffs only pays if the team wins every series, so compare it with backing the team series by series.

Many Dota 2 events use double elimination; a team that drops to the lower bracket needs extra series wins, so its title chance falls more than this straight path shows.

With a 60% chance in every series, the title chance before the first round is 21.6% (fair odds 4.63). An overround of 25% cuts that to 3.70. Each series win removes one factor, so the odds fall round by round. Example only, not a forecast.
