How it is worked out
Title chance = chance per series to the power of the series left. With 3 series to win: 21.6%, fair odds 4.63. Each series won removes one factor.
What it means: a pre-event outright price at 3.70 includes the margin on every round, so backing the same team series by series can pay more or less depending on the match margins you get.
SI playoffs have used a double-elimination bracket, so a team can lose once and still win. The example follows the shortest route.
