How to choose an esports betting bonus: compare value, not size

The best esports bonus is the one worth most in dollars after its terms. A $100 bonus with 5x wagering keeps about $70 of value at a 6% margin; the same bonus with 10x wagering on deposit plus bonus is worth less than nothing on average.

This guide turns the terms that matter (wagering, minimum odds, free bet rules and expiry) into a value you can compare, with worked examples.

Short answer

How do I find the best esports bonus?

Estimate each offer's value: bonus minus the expected cost of the required turnover, which is turnover × margin. Then check minimum odds, which esports markets count and the expiry. Low wagering usually beats a big headline amount.

$100, 5x bonus $70 $500 turnover × 6%
$100, 10x bonus $40 $1,000 × 6%
$100, 10x dep + bonus −$20 $2,000 × 6%
$20 free bet at 2.50 56% of face value kept

Three offers in dollars

Example terms with a 6% margin. The cost of wagering is what you lose on average while meeting it.

  1. Offer A: $100 bonus, 5x the bonus

    Turnover $500. Expected cost $500 × 6% = $30. Value about $70.

  2. Offer B: $200 bonus, 10x deposit plus bonus

    Deposit $200, bonus $200, turnover 10 × $400 = $4,000. Expected cost $240. Value about −$40, despite the bigger headline.

  3. Offer C: $20 free bet

No wagering on the free bet itself. At odds of 2.50 it keeps about 56% of its face value: about $11. Small but clean.

  4. Then check the esports terms

Minimum odds above 1.80 rule out many favourites; some offers exclude esports, live bets or lower-tier events. An offer you cannot use on the games you bet is worth nothing to you.

Example offers. Real terms come from each bookmaker and change.

Patterns & exceptions Example data

Terms that change a bonus's value

Wagering

Wagering eats the bonus

What it means: value of a $100 bonus at a 6% margin; every extra 5x costs $30.

Exception: a lower margin market reduces the cost of wagering; at 4% the 10x offer keeps $60.
Accumulators

Accumulators to meet wagering cost more

What it means: if terms force multi-leg bets, the margin per dollar wagered rises with every leg.

Exception: an acca boost can offset part of it; compare the boost with the extra margin.

Bonus guide FAQ

What makes a good esports betting bonus?

Low wagering on the bonus only, minimum odds you can live with (1.50–1.80), esports markets included and enough time to use it. See all esports betting bonuses.

How do I work out a bonus's value?

Bonus minus turnover × margin. A $100 bonus with $1,000 turnover at a 6% margin is worth about $40.

Is a free bet better than a deposit bonus?

A free bet is smaller but has no wagering on its own amount. A deposit bonus is worth more only if its wagering is low. See esports free bets.

What is a no deposit bonus worth?

Usually a few dollars after its terms and a cap on winnings. It is a way to test a site. See no deposit bonuses.

Do I need a bonus code?

Some offers require one at sign-up or deposit. See esports bonus codes.
