Supercell, the renowned developer of popular mobile games, may be venturing into the shooter genre. A recently leaked video suggests that the Finnish company is working on a third-person shooter.
Earlier this week, Supercell uploaded a video on its YouTube channel, which has since been deleted. The video, part of the CBS News Series 'Innovation and Disruption Leaders,' featured interviews with CEO Ilkka Paananen, game lead Jonathan Dower, and CPO Frida Johansson. It showcased Supercell's success in creating games that have captivated players for years.
Within the video, there was a brief clip of a person playing a third-person shooter on a laptop. Although the game was being tested on a PC, it is intended for mobile devices, as indicated by the on-screen buttons. The clip caught the attention of former Brawl Stars professional player SpenLC, who likened it to a 'Brawl Stars TPP.' The gameplay showcased a character engaging in combat, with damage indicators reminiscent of Brawl Stars.
While the video clip hints at an exciting new title, it is important to note that its release may not be imminent, or even guaranteed. Supercell is known for its high standards and has been known to discontinue games that fail to meet them. Furthermore, the fact that the video has been removed suggests that the inclusion of the clip may have been unintentional.
Fans eagerly awaiting more information about the third-person shooter will have to wait for an official announcement from Supercell. Only then will they learn if the game is indeed in development and what its eventual release date might be. In the meantime, Supercell has already unveiled a new MOBA game called mo.co, which is currently in its beta phase.
Stay tuned for updates from Supercell as they continue to innovate and expand their impressive portfolio of mobile games.
