Futsunushi is a unique Persona in Persona 3 Reload, known as the deity of swords. It stands out due to its rare skill and impressive power. This horrifying Persona excels as a Physical damage dealer, with a focus on Slash attacks. It also has the potential to learn Strike and Pierce skills, making it a formidable force in battle.

How to Fuse Futsunushi

To fuse Futsunushi in Persona 3 Reload, you don't need to rely on complex fusions. Regular Dyad Fusions will suffice. Here are a few fusion options that have worked for us:

  • Hell Biker (Hanged) + Atropos (Fortune)
  • Kali (Strength) + Barong (Emperor)
  • Daisoujou (Hierophant) + Seth (Moon)

If you don't have these exact Personas, you can try mix-and-matching with Personas from the same Arcana.

In addition to the fusion recipes, you need to have max rank with the Magician Social Link with Kenji Tomochika. This Social Link can be advanced early in the game, so you may have already maxed it out before being able to fuse Futsunushi.

Is Futsunushi Good?

Futsunushi is an excellent choice if you're looking for a strong brawler around level 70. It requires level 74 to fuse (or level 69 with the blessing of the Sun Arcana in Tartarus). One of its standout features is the unique skill it possesses: Bloody Charge. This skill is only available through fusion in Futsunushi and Hell Biker. If you didn't spend enough time with Shinji, fusing Futsunushi is your only way of obtaining this ability.

Bloody Charge is a powerful skill that enhances your critical chance and damage. Unlike other skills that consume SP, Bloody Charge consumes HP. This makes it an ideal choice for physical-based Personas, especially when combined with the Arms Master skill.

Futsunushi's Skills

Here are Futsunushi's skills in Persona 3 Reload, excluding any additional skills obtained through fusion or skill cards:

  • Vorpal Blade (default)
  • Bloody Charge (default)
  • Apt Pupil (default)
  • Matarukaja (75)
  • Sharp Student (76)
  • Brave Blade (78)
  • Unshaken Will (81)

Futsunushi vs. Susano-o

Futsunushi is in direct competition with another max-link Persona: Susano-o, which becomes available after reaching rank 10 in the Fool Social Link. Susano-o is obtainable at level 77, slightly higher than Futsunushi's level requirement of 74. However, Susano-o has higher Strength and Luck stats. If you don't bridge the gap between the two, Susano-o may come out on top in terms of overall stats.

Weaknesses and Countermeasures

Futsunushi has one potential weakness: Dark damage. Dark attacks can incapacitate Futsunushi, making it vulnerable in battle. While Dark attacks may not be common, the Mudo family of instakill abilities can pose a significant threat. To mitigate this weakness, you can add the Resist Dark skill to Futsunushi, which prevents it from being downed by Dark attacks. Additionally, the Unshaken Will skill allows Futsunushi to maintain control over Fear, Charm, Rage, Distress, or Confuse. Unshaken Will is available as a default skill on Futsunushi.

Fusing Futsunushi is definitely worth it, especially if you don't have access to Hell Biker. It allows you to pass on valuable skills like Bloody Charge, Apt Pupil, and Vorpal Blade to other Personas, expanding your repertoire of physical-based moves. Since fusing Futsunushi requires a max Social Link, you're guaranteed to gain a few levels in the process. So, make the most of your time and effort by fusing Futsunushi and unleashing its power in Persona 3 Reload.
