According to recent leaks, the locations for the Call of Duty League (CDL) 2024 Major tournaments have been revealed. While Activision Blizzard has yet to officially announce the CDL 2024 season, leaks from within the ecosystem have provided some insight into what fans can expect.
It appears that there will be no 'international' Majors this year, as all tournaments will be held in North America. With the Paris Legion and the London Royal Ravens no longer in the league, there is no reason for a Major to be hosted in those countries. This leak also confirms that there will be four Major tournaments this season, and all qualifying stages will be played online.
According to a Twitter claim by Jacob Hale, the CDL 2023/2024 Major tournaments will be held in the following locations:
While these locations provide a fair spread, EU-based fans may be disappointed with the absence of a Major tournament in the UK. Despite calls from fans for a UK-based Major, Activision Blizzard has not granted their request. However, with the London Royal Ravens relocating to the United States and becoming the Carolina Royal Ravens, they will be hosting a Major in their first year with the new brand.
The leak also reveals that the Call of Duty League Championship will return to Texas in 2024. Texas is considered the home of Call of Duty, as it is home to more Call of Duty teams than any other state in North America. It is also where OpTic is headquartered and serves as a base of operations for many organizations.
Fans can expect an official announcement about the upcoming Call of Duty League season from Activision Blizzard today, November 2nd. This announcement has been highly anticipated, as it marks the end of the longest off-season in CDL history. Since the conclusion of the CDL 2023 season in June, fans have been eagerly awaiting news about the future of the league.
On November 10th, the release of Modern Warfare 3 will bring a new game, updated maps, fresh movement, and a new generation of CDL skins and Operators. Will the CDL 2024 season be confirmed today? Stay tuned for updates.
