Eight CS2 Matches Today, MSI 2026 Starts Saturday - Here Is What to Watch
Liam Fletcher
Two major esports events are running across the next six days. Counter-Strike's Super DraculaN Season 1 opened today in Bucharest with eight group-stage matches, and League of Legends' Mid-Season Invitational 2026 Play-In Stage gets underway this Saturday in Daejeon, South Korea.
Counter-Strike: Super DraculaN Season 1 - June 23, Bucharest
Digital Crusade's biggest event to date runs June 23 to 28 at the Respawn x Halo Events Center with a $150,000 prize pool and 16 teams across two double-elimination groups. The top three from each group advance to a single-elimination bracket. All matches are best-of-three; the grand final is best-of-five.
Day One Schedule
Time | Match | Format |
|---|---|---|
11:00 | Infinite vs EAC | Bo3 |
11:00 | Inner Circle vs AM Gaming | Bo3 |
14:00 | Echo vs Apogee | Bo3 |
14:00 | Sashi vs 9INE | Bo3 |
17:00 | FOKUS vs OG | Bo3 |
17:00 | Sharks vs Eternal Fire | Bo3 |
20:00 | GamerLegion vs Acend | Bo3 |
20:00 | K27 vs Walczaki | Bo3 |
GamerLegion is the clear favorite, ranked 15th globally with a 73% win rate over the past 30 days, fresh off a grand final at IEM Atlanta 2026 and a Stage 2 appearance at the Cologne Major. The 17:00 clash between Sharks and Eternal Fire is the most evenly contested match of the day - Eternal Fire have been rebuilding throughout 2026 following a chaotic roster overhaul, while Sharks are one of the more consistent performers in the bracket. Whoever wins that one carries serious momentum into the rest of the group stage.
"GamerLegion are the team to beat. But in a double-elimination group where everyone needs to win two to advance, one bad map can make things complicated fast - and this field has enough quality to punish complacency."
League of Legends: MSI 2026 Play-In Stage - June 28, Daejeon
The League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational 2026 opens its Play-In Stage this Saturday at the Daejeon Convention Center in South Korea with a $2,000,000 prize pool and 11 teams from across the world's major regions. Four teams compete in a double-elimination Play-In bracket, with just one advancing to join the seven Bracket Stage teams.
All matches are best-of-five with Fearless Draft.
Play-In Opening Matches - June 28
Time | Match | Bracket |
|---|---|---|
05:00 | T1 vs Team Liquid | Upper Bracket Bo5 |
10:00 | Karmine Corp vs Deep Cross Gaming | Upper Bracket Bo5 |
- T1 vs Team Liquid is the headliner. T1 had to qualify through the LCK Road to MSI tournament after reigning back-to-back champions Gen.G fell, meaning the world champions drop into the Play-In rather than going straight to the Bracket Stage. They are the heavy favorites to come through the entire Play-In and are expected to reach the Bracket Stage without dropping a series. Team Liquid qualified as the LCS second seed and faces an enormous task against arguably the best team in the world.
- Karmine Corp vs Deep Cross Gaming is the second match of the day. Karmine Corp comes in as LEC Spring runners-up with a 7-2 regular season record, backed by a stable roster of Canna, Yike, kyeahoo, Caliste, and Busio under coach Reapered. Deep Cross Gaming qualified from the LCP region and is ranked 48th in the world - significantly below KC's ranking of 8th. Prediction markets have Karmine Corp at roughly 88% to win.
"T1 are not a team you overlook even when they drop into Play-Ins. The reigning world champions tend to use early international matches to find their footing - and by the time the grand final arrives, they are usually at their best."
