Discover the Secrets of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC

The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC introduced us to Blueberry Academy in Unova, where the BB Elite Four resides. Among these elite students, there are connections to previous characters and a potential link to Legends: Arceus.

The BB Elite Four

The BB Elite Four at Blueberry Academy consists of four new DLC characters: Crispin, Amarys, Drayton, and Lacey. These students are the strongest in the academy, except for Kieran, the reigning champion.

Connections to Previous Characters

While the DLC characters are new to the franchise, some of them have ties to characters from previous games. For instance, Drayton is the grandson of Gen V’s Gym Leader, Drayden, evident from their similar names and shared preference for Dragon Pokémon.

Lacey, on the other hand, has two connections that may not be immediately apparent. Dialogue in the DLC confirms that Lacey is the daughter of Clay, one of the Unova Gym Leaders, and they both have Excadrill as their ace Pokémon.

Connection to Legends: Arceus

Lacey's connection to Clay also links her to a character in Legends: Arceus named Lian. Although it is not explicitly stated, the resemblance between Clay and Lian suggests a possible distant relative relationship. Their similar hairstyles and hats cannot be mere coincidence. This connection implies that Lian could be the ancestor of both Clay and Lacey.

If this is true, Lacey would be a descendant of the Pearl Clan, to which Lian belonged while taking care of the noble Kleavor. Interestingly, Lacey's pearl-pink cardigan and hair may have been a subtle hint at her connection to the Pearl Clan and Legends: Arceus.

Perrin's Connection

Perrin, another character from the Scarlet and Violet DLC, also has a connection to Legends: Arceus. Perrin greatly resembles Adaman, the leader of the Diamond Clan. Their distinct hair color and eyes are strikingly similar, as pointed out by players when Perrin was first revealed in a trailer for the DLC.

Future Connections

The connections between Lacey and Perrin to Legends: Arceus suggest that we may see more characters with secret ties to the game as the franchise continues to expand. Keep an eye out for future updates and DLC releases!
