iDeal is a payment method for instant banking that was developed in the Netherlands in 2005. Customers are redirected to their online banking ecosystem to process a payment using a second factor of authentication, and the success or failure of any payment is immediately communicated. The customer's actual experience is determined by their particular bank.
Is iDeal popular?
Currence, the scheme that runs iDeal, is a partner of all Dutch central banks. Therefore iDeal is the top online payment method in the Netherlands, accounting for more than half of all online transactions. The payment method has grown significantly each year in its 17 years of existence, outpacing the growth of online retail.
There are no bank fees associated with the iDeal payment method. However, irrespective of the payment method, a betting site may charge an additional fee for using it. The company is then required to notify the customer of the additional charge before the payment is made. Most businesses or online stores choose not to charge any additional fees, which encourages people to use iDeal.
You can pay with iDeal right away if you have access to one of the participating issuers' internet or mobile banking option. There is no need for you to register separately. This means that when you use the payment method, you do it in an online banking environment or through a mobile banking app from one of the many consumer banks (issuing banks) that support it.
Due to its overall popularity, iDeal has become a top payment option that esports betting providers accept. Bettors love it too!
